We are flattered and appreciative that out of 27.5 million businesses in the United States, Allinio has been selected to participate in American City Business Journals‘ program, “Social Madness.” There are a total of approximately 4,000 companies in American City Business Journals’ in the 41 markets where they publish weekly local business news.
We’re up against other smalll businesses of under 100 employees in Baltimore, so this should be fun!
In the meantime, keep visiting us at http://allinio.com/;
Since Allinio helps run the B2B Twitterer of the Year Awards, we are familiar with business social media awards programs that are accused of merely being “popularity contests.” But like the B2BTOTY awards, which accepts some of the highest nominated candidates but also looks at other interesting nominees that by their nature may not have a large social media following, “Social Madness” will rank companies “based on a scoring algorithm that measures social influence.”
Yes, there are critics of these types of “competitions,” and it may appear that we are not above grovelling for attention. 🙂 But as social media is still evolving, what’s wrong with celebrating those that are using these platforms in ways that benefit an audience? It’s not easy running a program like this, and we wish the Business Journals well in executing the scoring, along with all the candidates in their quest to be socially “mad.”
Thanks for your vote!
