A Thanksgiving Wish

In the Year of Our Lord Sixteen Hundred Twenty One, a humble group of English and Native Americans gave thanks for surviving the elements of the New World and for the bounty of the land. It was a simple gathering – no parades, no football, no flyers advertising extended store hours and sales. Most of us probably can’t begin to imagine what it was really like.

What was to evolve in this continent within two hundred years were amazing concepts of individual freedoms that we currently enjoy. The United States of America remains an amazing land, made up of people from all over the world, who come to pursue dreams of a better life. As Marketers, we should be grateful that we have the ability to use our creative power and minds to compete and build a better world.

The Marketing Consigliere would like to wish all of his fellow professionals Marketers a Happy Thanksgiving.

Rob’s article in the November 22nd issue of the Post, ‘Augmented Reality’ fuses the Web and the world around y0u, provides a basic and thorough explanation of a promising tool for consumers and marketers.  It led the Marketing Consigliere to think more about this… [Read more...]

Join the Business Marketing Association

John Jantsch‘s Duct Tape Marketing is a great blog and his post today reminded the Marketing Consigliere that he needs to renew his membership in the Businesss Marketing Association.  He also missed out on this year’s annual conference, where he would have seen the above skit.  Thank you to John for the reminder!

Getting Emotional (Markup Language)

This past week the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the international community organization led by Web inventor Tim Berners-Lee that develops web standards, issued a working draft for Emotion Markup Language (EmotionML) 1.0. This is the genesis of a very exciting phase in network centric marketing.
